Northern Arizona, Day Six — Sedona, Prescott, Jerome
This morning we took the highly anticipated (because it had been scheduled for yesterday until “the incident”) helicopter tour of the Sedona area. I’ll be posting video later.
Then we were off to Prescott and Prescott Valley. We returned to Sedona via Jerome. You know, I just don’t know what to say about Jerome. In the Black Hills of Yavapai County, Jerome is an old frontier, mining town established in the late 1800′s and still very much has a rugged, rough-hewn feel to it.
“Lunch for the Committed” at the Asylum, a “restaurant on the fringe,” was great fun. A couple own both the restaurant and the hotel. At the front desk inside the hotel is still the old telephone switchboard. The photo is awful since I didn’t have my tripod, but it’s better than not seeing it at all.
