The Palin Problem

| Be the First to Comment | Share or bookmark this post: Bookmark and Share

We all know Sarah is now an employee of Rupert Murdoch. What we didn't know, until the book and the recent 60 Minutes episode, was the astounding level of her lack of qualification for being being a heartbeat away from the presidency. But that didn't matter to her at all, because "It was God's will" for her to be the Vice President, she said.

This interview is as enlightening as it is frightening. It's worth the attention of the nation.

Well, hopefully she will continue to show how lackluster she is as she stars on FOX not-News. Maybe she will go rogue. But probably, she will just quit--you know, like she did as governor of Alaska.

Heart Warming

Yesterday I listened to a presenter at Emory who reminded me of something I read years ago when he said it, "The opposite of love isn't hate. It's fear."

We live in such fearful times. And I don't think all fear is unhealthy at all. But this free hugs movement, started by Juan Mann a few years back, points us in a positive direction marked by kindness and acceptance. Check out pictures of huggers from around the world.

He started a movement that has spread around the world. I'm including this clip from Scotland, though there are many videos on YouTube about Free Hugs.

Not Just Complicit

In my mind, the Republican Party is not just complicit in this effort, they are responsible.  George W. Bush thrust the nation into bankruptcy financially and morally.  The Republican party is trying to fan the flames of anger and bullying behavior to hide the mess they created that is the true source of the middle class shriveling up.

Nancy has rightly challenged her colleagues to stop the bullying language that is more and more inciting irresponsible behavior before it leads to murder.  If the Republicans do not rise to this challenge and continue this inflammatory language, they should be held accountable for their negligent and complicit conduct, the product of well orchestrated and well financed effort.

The Republican Fear Machinery has taken fear to a whole new level.  This is the worst of America.

Adam Lambert Is an A+ Entertainer

The dude rocks!

I had the opportunity to watch the American Idol Live concert tonight at the Staples Center in LA and shot this video of Adam's first performance. You can't really see how completely awesome the visual effects were. You can see everyone had their cell phones and cameras out recording it.

Uploading the video immediately after he performed it took 10 minutes. So I wasn't able to shoot any others. But the visuals for this one were the most impressive. The audio, for much of the concert, was just too loud for me--too much distortion. (Research actually shows that most Americans equate louder with higher quality.)

Hate that I didn't get to shoot Mad World!

Everyone knows Lambert really won American Idol. The crowds were insane over him--but not the "winner."

Also of interest is the number of comments, views and ratings that happened before I even got home from the concert. I had no idea he was such a hot search on YouTube!

I shot, edited, and uploaded this little 12 second video using only my iPhone 3Gs today and published it here in less than 1 minute! Very cool!

Have I Mentioned Change Recently?

Tim-TVSo you hopped onto my website just now and... Wait, what's that? I mean, am I hearing things? What's going on? This is strange.

Well, what if everyone on the planet could have their own television station and broadcast to everyone else on the planet. And, what if it were free?

Well, that's what I've done. Welcome to Tyson-TV! Broadcasting 24/7, you can now watch and listen to some of my selected internet videos. You can watch my Tyson-TV stream in the footer of my blog because it was the largest area of screen real estate I could keep constantly on the screen for your viewing pleasure.

The "channel line up" will change from time to time as I think to add new content. Maybe every once and a while I will actually broadcast myself as well--perhaps you will catch me live from whatever city I happen to be in at the time.

And you notice the "ticker" scrolling across the TV screen? It's the last 20 posts in my RSS feed. If you see one that strikes your fancy, just click on the title and poof... that post window will open! Cool.

And you can click on "Full Screen" to have my TV channel fill your monitor screen. Click on "Embed" if you wish to embed my TV channel in your own blog or web page.

Clicking on the "Menu" button gives you several options. The "On-Demand" menu allows you to select specific videos to play from the playlist I've put together. So you can replay your favorites.

And the power button in the bottom left will allow you to turn off my TV channel.

There's so much that could be said about this technology. I can invite co-producers, like you, to broadcast with me, even live, even with your cell phone, any where in the world. So check it out at Mogulus.

Network television is rapidly going to become so last century. News reporting is about to really change. Life will never be the same. The medium is the message, and you are the medium and can control the message as well.

Certainly you have heard her sing by now. But, just in case you haven't, you need to watch her clip on YouTube.

In 5 days an ordinary lady with an extraordinary gift has brought elation to our entire world, offering hope, joy, and dreams in a time of global depression. From cynicism to celebration and worldwide support in 2 seconds flat!

Here's an interview she did with American Idol.

First to Recover: China

| Be the First to Comment | Share or bookmark this post: Bookmark and Share

This is an interesting take on the financial crisis. The last question on the table was, "Who will recover first?" China. With their growth, assets, and manufacturing sector will be the first to stabilize in the world economic meltdown. And who wanted to send all of our manufacturing jobs over to China? Hmmm???

And just what will the impact of that be in the USA?!

Change Congress

Change Congress

I believe we need to return government to "of the people, by the people, and for the people"—not a radically new idea, really.

I invite you to explore Larry Lessig's Change Congress initiative.
